What you do in it
Start with a patch of soil, a watering can and a bag of wheat seeds. Dig, plant, water and harvest, then sell what you grow at your roadside stand. The farm grows with you:
- Over 40 crops to unlock, from carrots and corn to tea, lemons and saffron
- Hens, sheep and buffalo, with eggs, wool and milk to collect
- A mill, a dairy, a jam pot and a bakery to turn the harvest into better goods
- A roadside stand that grows into a farm shop and a market hall, with customers walking in from the road
- Farm hands who dig, water and harvest with you, and a harvester for the big fields
- Dogs that keep the foxes from the hens, or zen mode with no foxes at all
- Orders and daily tasks when you want a goal, 50 levels, and no timer that punishes you
Why it exists
Most farm games on a phone are built to interrupt you: ads between actions, timers you pay to skip, an account before you plant a seed. Farmlight is built the other way round. You pay once, the farm is yours, it works on a plane, and a child can play it without anything being collected about them. Nana, the farmer's grandmother, shows the ropes and cheers each level; the rest is yours to watch grow.
Pictures
Icon, banner and seven phone screenshots, all taken from the game itself. The kit holds them as full-size PNG files.
